Tick Tock

Last week when I had my IUI they told me I needed to do a second trigger shot on Friday (today).  This helps boost progesterone to help with implantation.

So this morning after my shower, I gave myself the ovidrel shot!  Before all of this, I never would have thought I would be able to give myself an injection so casually and so easily.  Oh the joys of infertility.

And since I had to do a second trigger shot, that means my two week wait becomes a three week wait.  Ugh.  Two weeks is bad enough.

With my last IUI I tested early.  I tested out the trigger shot so I wouldn't get a false positive.  All I kept coming up with were BFN's instead.  And it drove me crazy.  I was so negative and so sure it didn't work, even though it was early.

This IUI I have decided that I will not test early.  I will wait until March 9th.  That means I will go for three weeks before knowing if this worked.  The way I'm looking at it right now is that I had a one week wait for my trigger shot and now I have a two week wait for my bfp.  That's right, I'm envisioning a BFP (aren't we all).

To keep me busy during the wait I have lots going on.  Today starts massive cleaning day at Casa a la Suzy.  My Mom is coming to visit next Thursday.  I am so excited, but I have so much to do at home!  She will be here through the following Tuesday.  So I'll be busy preparing for her arrival and we will stay super busy while she's here.  I think that will help the last two weeks fly by.  At lest I hope it will.
